Bayberry Candle Wax Blend

Beeswax and Paraffin

Bayberry wax has a natural green color and woodsy scent. The wax can be expensive and sometimes difficult to buy. This recipe yields one pound and burns smoothly with minimal dripping.

Description

When purchasing beeswax, use a reputable seller that guarantees product quality.

The natural smell and color of bayberry and beeswax is wonderful. We do not recommend adding any color or scents.

Ingredients
  • 8 ounces Bees Wax
  • 8 ounces Paraffin Wax
Instructions
  1. Add bayberry and bees waxes to a melting pot.

  2. Melt and gently stir to combine.

  3. Bring wax to about 160°F.

  4. Pour the melted wax into the candle mold.

As candle cools and wax sets the wax will shrink creating a well. Pierce the wax in a couple places to release surface tension then top off the mold with more melted wax. Larger size candles may require a second top off.
Note

This 1 pound recipe will yield any of the following types of candles:

  • Ten 6-inch tall, .6-inch diameter tapers
  • Four 12-inch tall, .75-inch diameter tapers
  • One 4-inch tall, 3-inch diameter pillar

Candle yield will vary, based on mold shape.
