This recipe is based off a recipe we received from a friend more than a few decades ago. We have modified the recipe so much that it has become our own chili recipe, but we wish to still honor Wayne as the source of the original recipe.
Chili recipe with just a little heat and lots of flavor. We keep hot sauce on hand for kicking it up in individual bowls as needed for taste of the person consuming it. This is great as a main dish or a side.
This Chili has beans in it, which to many people is a violation of the definition for chili, but this is how we like it.
Drain the cooked out fat.
Dump the browned meat into a 4-quart slow cooker pot.
A little water or wine can be used to deglaze the pan as the peppers and onions saute.
Dump the contents into the slow cooker pot.
Stir the ingredients together to combine them.
Gently stir the entire pot every 15-20 minutes.
